Police are appealing for information after Rural Fire Service (RFS) sheds in Somerton, Currabubula and Breeza were broken into between Sunday and Tuesday.
RFS Tamworth acting manager Inspector Scott Mack told the Leader the offenders made off with specialist radios used to communicate during fire responses and rescue tools which will now have to be replaced.

"Volunteers have raised funds to purchase some of this equipment and that's very disappointing," he said.
The sheds themselves also had some damage done when they were broken into with forced entry, which has since been repaired.
Inspector Mack urged anyone who came across the equipment being sold to report it to police.

He said Liverpool Range units and Tamworth units were on the lookout for any suspicious activity around the sheds.
Oxley Police District Detective Inspector Jason Darcy said police were investigating all three targeted break-ins and were asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
"The equipment stolen and damage caused is totally unacceptable, people have short memories given the bushfires we have had over the last few years," he said.
"To have people going and breaking into RFS sheds is disgusting."
Report information to Tamworth police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
