Stuck in a seven-day snap lockdown due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the session will be held online on Friday.
Hunter New England Health executive infrastructure and planning director Dr Ramsey Awad said the project team would be on hand to shed some light on the project.
"Building a hospital of this size requires significant planning and this session will be a great opportunity for people in the local community to get an understanding of the project," Dr Awad said.
"We are at the very early stage in the redevelopment planning process, however we're keen to ensure the community is kept up to date.

"The online session will also include an overview of the substantial site investigation work that is under way and will help inform master planning."
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson last week announced the project's lead consultant project team, architect and cost manager.
The announcement came after Gunnedah Shire Council mayor Jamie Chaffey shared concerns the much-needed project was moving at a snail's pace.
The project's first shovel is due to hit the dirt in 2023, with the hospital to open by 2025.
Dr Awad said the project team aims to deliver a "contemporary health facility" that is welcoming for patients.
"Over the coming months, the project team will be developing a campus master plan for the redevelopment, tailored to Gunnedah's health needs," he said.
"We look forward to continuing consultation with the community about the master plan and early design to seek feedback and hear ideas on how we can meets the needs of our area."

HNEH staff were last grilled about the project during a meeting in April.
