Registrations have opened for the highly anticipated Tamworth Country Music Festival Busking Championships, with more than 400 buskers expected to line the boulevard of dreams.
Golden Guitar winner Kirsty Lee Akers said every year her mother and father would pack the kids up in the car, head to Tamworth and camp for two weeks.
"I would perform in talent quests and busk on Peel Street and the money I earned from busking paid for my first ever EP when I was 16," she said.

Buskers will have a chance to impress throughout the festival as judges roam the streets looking for the top 10 performers.
Those buskers will have the opportunity to show off their best songs in front of a crowd of hundreds at the Toyota Best of the Buskers concert on the last Sunday of the festival.
