NSW Health confirmed the virus that causes COVID-19 was not detected in Tamworth's wastewater in a test taken on Monday.
The three negative sewage results in a row follow a string of positive detections that were concerning to authorities.
Tamworth recorded its first case of COVID-19 in more than 17 months this week, a person believed to be connected to a confirmed case in Glen Innes.

It is understood they are isolating on a property outside Tamworth and pose a "low risk" to the community.
Tamworth's sewage results are usually taken twice per week, but were increased temporarily while the tests were coming back positive.
The Tamworth community has been asked to turn out for testing if the mildest of symptoms develop, including a scratchy throat or runny nose.
Swabs can be sought at the Tamworth hospital, the Plain Street drive-through, Tamworth Respiratory Clinic, Douglass Hanly Moir or the walk-up Coledale clinic.
