After virtually no racing for more than three months, TSCC president Jason Newling said everyone was very happy to be able to get back in their cars and hit the track again.
"A lot of guys out there were having a lot of fun on the weekend, which is the main thing," he said.
He said it was a bit of a scramble, having only a week to get the all clear from all the relevant authorities and throw the event together but worth it to be able to give their members some racing.
"We've hardly had any events over the last two years because of COVID," Newling continued.
"Most of the championships and big events have been cancelled for the year because people can't travel to them."
The TSCC was supposed to hold a round of the State Hillclimb Championships in July. That had been moved to October but the remainder of the series has now been canned altogether.
To make up for the lack of racing, Newling said the club are planning to put on some extra events.
"Restrictions pending, we plan to do a fair bit of racing over the rest of the year," he said.
"We're going to run an event every month through until the end of the year."
They will be the third Sunday of the month, and at this stage limited to only club members.
Around 20 took the opportunity on Sunday to "get a few cobwebs out of their car" and in some cases blow the dust off.
Newling said a lot of the cars "had a lot of dust on them". Some had had some work done on them, Sunday giving the drivers the chance to test out the changes.
