Residents in Hanging Rock and Ponderosa woke up to a dusting of snow on Tuesday morning with cool and showery conditions expected to continue for Tamworth and the region.
A small amount of hail is predicted with temperatures set to hit a high of 16 in Tamworth and 10 degrees up the hill at Guyra on Tuesday.
The wet and cold conditions are due to a low pressure system developing offshore across the Tasman Sea with another cold front predicted at the weekend.
