A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after he severed a finger in a circular saw accident west of Tamworth on Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics rushed to a property at Boggabri after reports a 55-year-old man had suffered serious hand injuries while he was using a circular saw.
The man was taken to Boggabri hospital by ambulance but the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was called about 5pm to fly the man to Tamworth hospital for further treatment.
It is understood the man was in a stable condition.

The chopper was tasked to assist with patients at Inverell, Tenterfield and Dunedoo hospitals.
A seven-month-old baby boy and his mother were both airlifted from Wee Waa to Tamworth hospital on Sunday night for the child to be treated for a serious medical condition.
A 12-year-old girl was also flown from Tamworth to John Hunter Children's Hospital in Newcastle for medical treatment over the weekend.
