Tamworth Baseball Inc (TBI) is planning to hold a summer competition after the winter season was officially cancelled last week when it was announced community sport couldn't return until 80 per cent of NSW was vaccinated against COVID-19.
The idea has already received good feedback from players and president Dave McMurray invited anyone to sign up.
"We want to introduce new players to baseball and develop our existing squad and also to get people back on the park because they've missed out on so much this year," he said.
"We're just putting it out there to people who are maybe interested to put a team together and have a game of baseball. Hopefully we can get a few teams."

The season would commence once vaccination rates hit the magic number of 80 per cent which is predicted for early to mid November.
The summer matches would be played on a Sunday.
"We figured we'd keep away from the Saturday sports and make it an afternoon at 4 o'clock," McMurray said.
"The heat of the day is probably gone by then and it's not going to be that hot between now and Christmas.
"We'd like to think we can get on the park early November and finish mid-December."
The TBI Facebook page has a link where people can register their interest for the summer competition.
TBI also announced there would be no major premierships given out for the 2021 winter season.
However, they recognised their minor premiers with Cougars taking out the A grade crown and Cougars White claiming the B grade title.
