Residents near the intersection of Hyman and Johnston streets have reported that long vehicles, like trucks, regularly mount the kerb, smacking into kerb-side gardens and damaging the road.
Long vehicles like trucks are limited in their turn by a centre median, forcing them off the road.
The Tamworth Regional Council local traffic committee has recommended the full council impose a load limit along the entire length of Hyman Street to end the problem. They will also be banned from Monteray Street, from Bligh Street to Hyman Street.

Buses will be exempted from the ban.
The committee also heard complaints about illegal parking near Tamara Private Hospital.
So many people illegally park at the corner of Adam and Dean streets, the private hospital took "egress concerns" to the traffic committee.
The hospital asked for a no parking zone at the intersection to give motorists a clean line-of-sight into Adam Street.
Traffic committee staff have passed on a recommendation council reinforce a default no stopping zone with the addition of a yellow line.
All suggestions are subject to approval by the full council meeting on Tuesday night.
In June, the traffic committee recommended major changes to parking limits at four sites in the heart of the city, including an end to free parking at the city's town hall.
