It was a dream review of his rugby league skills, with the newspaper article peppered with superlatives such as "blistering" and "outstanding".

And it came some six months after Tamworth flyer Jerramaine "Jerry" Nean left Tamworth for high school in Townsville.
It was in the North Queensland capital that the 17-year-old junior Cowboys signing battled homesickness while fighting his way into the starting side of one of Australia's premier rugby league nurseries, Kirwan High, before an off-field incident derailed the outside back's season and taught him a valuable lesson.
"No more fighting," the year 11 student said of throwing his fists.

The two-game suspension the Cowboys handed Nean meant he missed the Kirwan Bears' final two games of the season including the final of the prestigious Aaron Payne Cup, which they were attempting to win for a fourth straight year.
In the final at Mackay on Wednesday, Yeppoon's St Brendan's College landed a field goal in the dying stages of the match to sink Kirwan High 19-18.
The loss also ended the school's bid for three consecutive state titles. They were crowned national champions in 2015 and 2019
"It was really good," the former Peel High student said of his first season in the Far North.
"At first I got homesick," he added. "But then I got good mates. And now I get myself around and I feel much better."
The move to the tropics was the first time Nean had lived away from his family. However, it came later than originally planned.
The 2019 Australian Schoolboys under-15 representative signed a four-year deal with the Cowboys that same year.
He was meant to attend St Joseph's Nudgee College in Brisbane in 2020. But COVID derailed that plan and he stayed in Tamworth, before moving to North Queensland in January.
Nean - a 11.3sec 100m runner who prefers to play centre but played on the wing for Kirwan High - has added 10kg to his 193cm frame since the relocation and now weighs 85kg.
As part of his Cowboys deal, he trained with the NRL side's development squad once a week throughout July.
"I think I've improved," he said of his game since arriving in Townsville, which he likened to Tamworth.
"It's really nice," the ex-North Tamworth Bear said of the coastal city. "And the people in Townsville are really nice too. It's sorta like home but it's not, if you know what I mean."
In the aforementioned Townsville Bulletin article - published just prior to Kirwan High concluding the regular rounds of the Aaron Payne Cup - Kirwan Bears coach Nathan Norford said Nean was "a big frame" who could "move across the field at pace".
He added: "The progression that he has made in his first year is outstanding, and I am sure he will only keep on growing ahead of next year. He is a key part of our backline."
