The Mason Racing Stables ticked that box this week when consistent gelding Ziggi Rocks won the Furneys Stock Feeds Class 2 Handicap (1600m) at Tamworth under a brilliant steer from Christian Reith.
It gave the stables a win within the first month of the new season.
The five-year-old has been at the stables since January where Mason, along with his son Will, have been working with the gelding.
It was Ziggi Rocks' first win for the Masons after four minor placings from his previous seven starts for the stable.

Will said getting a win was always nice and not just for him and his dad.
"It's always a good feeling - for the owners as well. Making them happy," he said.
"And then it shows you've put the hard work in."
After the Class 2 win and a second in a benchmark 66 the start before, Mark believes from here Ziggi Rocks can progress further through the ranks.
"I think so, yeah. He's got a couple more in him I think," Mason said.
The stable has 10 horses in work but are looking likely to have a quiet couple of weeks trackside.
Mason said he "might take one or two to the Barraba Cup meeting" which is scheduled to be run on September 18.
For now, the father and son will continue to work the horses at the stable together - something they both enjoy doing. "He [Will] does a fair bit of work over there [at the stable] and he does a good job," Mark said of his son.
