Armidale also recorded no new cases.
Ms Berejiklian said the lack of cases in both areas is a positive sign.
"In terms of regional New South Wales, pleasingly Armidale, Tamworth and Northern Rivers continue to have zero cases which is a positive sign, those three local government areas or communities who are currently in lockdown continue to have zero cases," she said.
"Unfortunately the same isn't the case for Hunter ... where there has been a number of cases overnight and as a response to that, NSW Health has recommended that those local government areas which are currently in lockdown including the Hunter and the upper hunter areas will be extended by another week, so rather than coming out of lockdown tomorrow, that will be extended another week given the additional number of cases and I think given what the area is experiencing the community would understand why that is the case."
In Dubbo there were five additional cases overnight and one in western NSW which have put communities in lockdown.
NSW broke a vaccination record yesterday with 106,000 people fronting up.
There were 345 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm and 60 of those were infectious in the community during that time.
Unfortunately, two people died overnight, both were men in their 90s; one was fully vaccinated and the other had the first dose of AstraZeneca.
