Oxley police have confirmed the registration plates on a vehicle that appeared to be doing burnouts on the Gipps Street field last weekend can be seen in footage taken from Tamworth Regional Council's (TRC) cameras.
Police claim the CCTV shows a vehicle mounting the kerb and driving onto the sporting field before doing burnouts on the grass, just before 7pm on July 31.

Oxley officers said the plate numbers were clear in the footage and the vehicle's registration was able to be tracked to an address on the north coast of NSW.
Police from the local area have continued to make inquiries into a young man who they claim was attending a sporting event in Tamworth at the time.
In the days after the incident, TRC sports and recreation operations manager Anton Logan slammed the vandalism as frustrating and annoying.
CCTV footage was handed over to be reviewed by officers, leading to the breakthrough.
Investigations continue.
