The federal government announced it would send more doses to regional NSW in the next two weeks, after 40,000 vaccinations were sent to HSC students in Sydney at the start of the week.
Now, Tamworth residents will have their appointments rescheduled by NSW Health.
The public have to be vigilant, Mr Anderson said.
"People have to continue to maintain their health, hygiene and mask up whenever they go into a premise and follow the health orders - this really highlights that," he said.
"I think the fact that Muswellbrook and Singleton are in lockdown; that's just down the road. We need to make sure our people are keeping safe and I have a watching brief on our communities to ensure we do the right thing.
"My message has been clear all along, get vaccinated, get absolutely vaccinated."

Mr Anderson supported NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian's decision to send vaccines in rural and regional NSW to Sydney, despite a petition from other MP's to get them back.
He said his goal now is to increase COVID-19 testing hours in Gunnedah to seven days a week, especially for truck drivers to be tested.
"I am ramping up advocacy and pushing for our testing places to be open longer," he said.
NSW Health will contact residents who had prior bookings to reschedule.
