GROUP 4 will stage three junior league-tag gala days over the next month, with the inaugural happening a potential forerunner to actual junior competitions next season.

Scott Bone, the Greater Northern Tigers regional manager, said the the competitions for girls will be played at the under-13 and under-16 levels, with gala days at Gunnedah, Tamworth and Narrabri.
The under-13 comp will be for players aged 11 to 12, while the under-16 comp will be for players aged 14 to 16.

There will be three Sunday gala days consisting of two to three games each day, Bone said.
The first gala day will be in Gunnedah on August 15, with the second and third gala days at Tamworth (August 29) and Narrabri (September 5).
Bone said: "This will be a trial to see if we can run in-season competitions next year.
"We want to gauge the interest out there in the Group 4 area, as well as providing a pathway to the senor clubs."
Bone said 60 players have so far registered, with clubs such as Collegians and Dungowan certain to have teams.
Werris Creek have "six or seven girls interested", he added.
