More than 1350 nominations have been received, which is the highest total in six years.
They have been spread across more than 600 businesses too, with many receiving more than one nod for their efforts over the past year.
Tamworth Business Chamber committee member Caroline Lumbley said the increase in numbers is a reflection of the endeavour owners have shown to keep their doors open for customers in recent times.
"The most promising part about of all of this that the community has recognised that together we're stronger," she said.
"And their support for business, and their support for the changes businesses are making to try and remain open where they can through COVID is the exciting part for us.

"It shows we're really in this together."
At this stage, the chamber is still hoping to proceed with the awards night which is scheduled for September 10.
Tickets can at this stage be bought until August 30, although Ms Lumbley said there's a lot of water to go under the bridge until a final call can be made.
"We will make the decision and the judgement on whether or not it will be able to be sold at the same number we have previously," she said.
