It's the first time every residential property in the region will be given a waste voucher, which will be mailed to homes directly.
The vouchers can be used whenever the public want, provided they haven't expired at any of the region's landfills.
One voucher entitles the user to dispose two-metres-cubed of waste, and the council suggests residents make the most of their voucher by pre-sorting recyclables from waste before they arrive.
