A brand new park bench will also be installed, after The Pub Angling Club raised funds to replace the table that was stolen a few years ago.
Volunteers from Tamworth Regional Landcare Association, The Pub and OzFish North West will roll up their sleeves bright and early to beautify the river, help create habitat for fish and native animals and provide shade for the community to enjoy.
The project is called Trees for Fish, and everyone is encouraged to join in, plant a tree and show the river some love, OzFish North West's Anne Michie said.
"We've been working on this particular project for just over four years now, and we hold working bees on a regular basis to look after all the plantings we have had," she said.

"We'll be looking at planting well over 100 trees so there will be plenty there if anybody wants to come down, plant a tree and feel good about themselves on National Tree Day.
"It will be COVID safe and it is one of those activities you can enjoy out in the fresh air.
"Sunday is also meant to be an absolute cracker of a day weather-wise so it will be a really good day if anybody wants to join in and find out what it is all the wonderful volunteers have been doing down there."
The plantings also play an important role in improving bank stability, while providing an area of urban renewal that can be enjoyed by the people of Tamworth.
- The event runs from 8:30am to around lunchtime at Jewry Street, North Tamworth on the Peel River.
