Laverty Pathology privately runs dozens of drive-through testing clinics across the state and the company confirmed opening hours had been extended at some sites due increased demand.
The company also warned test results may take longer as people turn out in record numbers for testing, and locals could expect the 24-48 hour testing timeframe to be exceeded.
"These unprecedented volumes have meant that our system for entering tests has been significantly impacted," a statement said.
NSW recorded 145 new cases of community transmission in Monday's update, with 51 of those people in the community while infectious.
To seek a swab in Tamworth, contact the Tamworth Respiratory Clinic and make a booking; head down to the Plain Street drive-through where you don't need a booking or referral; or talk to your GP about other options.
Tamworth has not recorded a case of COVID-19 in more than 15 months and sewage surveillance has also so far come up clean of COVID-19 particles.
