Mitchell O'Keefe bagged a hat-trick and his coach, Tim Coates, went "along for the ride" as OVA remained undefeated after overwhelming Tamworth FC at Riverside on Sunday.
Will Menz added another two goals in the reigning premiers' 5-1 win.
It was the ideal way for Oxley Vale Attunga to start the third round and the run to the finals.
"I think they're taking me along for the ride," Coates said.
"I think they're a good squad of players who know what to do ... my job is just to try and help them out."
Coates said he and his player "complimented each other". "And it just works; everyone's doing what they need to do."
O'Keefe, Mushies' president, is the latest recipient of Northern NSW Football's volunteer of the month award. Coates said O'Keefe "turns up" in every match.
Elsewhere on Sunday, South United downed Moore Creek 3-2 while North Companions beat Gunnedah 2-0.
