The Swans will don special purple socks on Saturday against the New England Nomads for the inaugural Pancare Round for pancreatic cancer awareness.
It is estimated that in 2021, 4261 new cases of pancreatic cancer will be diagnosed in Australia and pancreatic cancer is projected to be the second leading cause of cancer related deaths by 2030.
Bianca Hughes lost her gran to pancreatic cancer and fellow Swan Naomi Burke lost her father to the aggressive disease.
The pair want to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and also the good work that Pancare does.
"My dad and step mum had actually lost a best friend four weeks before my gran died to pancreatic cancer," Hughes said.
"Through their family, they put us on to the Pancare Foundation and I just feel like they weren't well enough known, much like pancreatic cancer.
"Raising awareness and funding for them is pretty important. They're the people that were there for us when we didn't have anyone else or know enough about it."
The pair said they had felt incredibly supported by the Swans family. Not only for this round but also throughout their time at the club.
"After dad passed away, I was just looking for something," Burke said.
"I was looking for something fresh I guess. Coming into the Swans family in their first year for the women, it was refreshing and they were the support I didn't know that I needed when dad first passed away."
Pancare Foundation is a leading charity committed to inspiring hope, raising awareness, supporting families and funding research for upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
With some of the lowest survival rates out of all the major cancers, the foundation's mission to improve survival and support for Australians diagnosed with pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers.
And the Swans will be getting behind the foundation in a range of ways.
Along with wearing the special socks, there will merchandise including pens, wristbands and ribbons available at the ground, along with a BBQ and 100 club.
The Post Office Hotel will also be hosting a Bar Takeover after the matches.
A select group of Tamworth Swans will be serving drinks on the night and $1 from each drink served by the Swans will go to Pancare.
