*1st Race @ 12.35pm

*RACE 1 @ 12.35pm AUSTRALIAN BLOODSTOCK - australianbloodstock.com.au 0407 451 823 or 0409 270 980 - MAIDEN HCP (1400m) - Min Weight 56kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
We start a strong and very open meeting with a competitive maiden. Improving three-year-old Scone filly 2. LAPSEKI (Brett Cavanough/Ben Looker; 56.5kg) is ready to peak on an improving surface after getting home hard here in a similar quality maiden. Draws to get a nice run with cover off the speed and will be strong late

*MAIN DANGERS: Tough three-year-old filly 3. My Khaleesi produced a huge run making up a stack of ground from a mile back at Dubbo. Again will be forced well back from the draw, with a significant jockey change, and wetter the better. Another improving filly 4. Sure Strategy only has a plain record, but finished well right behind the top selection in that maiden 11 days ago; while 13. Stable Talk comes through that same formline just out of the placings, but draws off the track this time.
Likely Tempo: Solid
My Betting Attack: LAPSEKI to WIN and Box Exacta: 2,3,4
*RACE 2 @ 1.10pm COOL BLUE ICE - coolblueice.com.au 0407 912 068 - CLASS 1 HCP (1400m) - Min Weight 5kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
Same distance for a likely more tactical battle, with plenty of candidates. Muswellbrook three-year-old Star Witness filly 9. SPARKY GIRL (Pat Farrell/Reece Jones a0kg; 56.5kg) is far more capable than her record or market suggest. Has hit the line impressively in her last two against deeper opposition, and is well over the odds. Form country rider gets back on, and she'll be tucked away with cover back in the field and saved for one last surge.
*MAIN DANGERS: Provincial filly 2. Syzygy Stars beat a good maiden field on debut before not having a lot of luck in a tougher metro BM 64. Much better off back in this grade on a somewhat firmer surface, although she will need to get across from the outside barrier. Big watch on ex-Qld four-year-old 6. Triangulum who has his first start for new Newcastle yard a month between runs, down in weight, and with blinkers coming off. Progressive filly 7. Tornado Light produced an upset win on debut driving home from well back before working home okay on a bog track. Looks okay at the weights, and firmer surface is a big plus.
Likely Tempo: Reasonable to Solid
My Betting Attack: SPARKY GIRL Each-Way & Box Trifecta: 2,6,7,9
*RACE 3 @ 1.50pm IRON HORSE GLOBAL - @ironhorseglobal - 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1200m) - Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
Still with the maidens, and again there's a heap of chances. Home track three-year-old Outreach filly 7. MOOKI BEAUTY (Sue Grills/Ms Casey Waddell a2kg; 54.5kg) can break through at her fourth start getting out to an ideal distance at the right time. Draws to sit midfield with cover, and well treated after promising rider's 2kg allowance.
*MAIN DANGERS: Expecting a big first-up run from provincial Kermadec filly 14. L'Esperance Rock who returns for just her third start off a smart trial win. Improving provincial three-year-old 4. London Ruler stuck on okay after leading under a big weight, and has a nice little weight drop and change of rider for her third start. Local filly 13. Addison Reserve has to overcome the outside barrier, but resumes off two progressive trials, and gets in light after jockey's 3kg claim. Include in wider exotics lightly raced three-year-old fillies 11. Velvet Star who draws the inside; 9. Grounded who gets a string of gear changes; and at big odds 1. Jappalouis on debut for the leading local stable with blinkers on.
Likely Tempo: Good
My Betting Attack: MOOKI BEAUTY Each Way & FIRST FOUR: 7,14/1,7,9,11,13,14/1,7,9,11,13,14/1,7,9,11,13,14
*RACE 4 @ 2.25pm TAB.COM.AU BENCHMARK 66 HCP (1600m) - Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
Always a good pressure and competitive battle in this grade. Newcastle-based Vancouver three-year-old 9. VANBARI (Kris Lees/Darryl McLellan; 56.5kg) is ready to win third-up dropping 4kg in weight and staying at the fancied mile. Took over on the turn here 11 days ago before being run down late, and hits peak fitness now from a much softer draw.
*MAIN DANGERS: Progressive three-year-old 4. Theo Legion is well suited dropping back from the 2000m after being edged out in a tight finish at Taree. Had dominated from the front prior over this distance, and he'll take plenty of catching around this circuit. Local and capable four-year-old 7. Manseneta is at his best around this trip when raced sparingly. Has been given four weeks since finishing close-up on a Heavy 10 here. Honest five-year-old 1. Toulon Brook surged late to win a similar race fourth-up, and will carry the same weight after the claim; while keeping safe four-year-old mare and stablemate to top selection 11. Fu Ni second-up and out in distance.
Likely Tempo: Fair to Reasonable
My Betting Attack: VANBARI to WIN & Quinella: 4 and 9
*RACE 5 @ 3.05pm COREY'S CATERING - coreyscatering.com.au (02) 6762 3294 - MAIDEN PLATE (1000m) - Set Weights; Apprentices Can Claim:
Very keen in this dash on progressive three-year-old provincial filly 9. SHEER SUCCESS (Angela Davies/Ms Jenny Duggan a0kg; 57kg) who led for a long way as a well-backed fancy on debut, and the 2nd place-getter who finished only a whisker in front of her then won easily at Scone on Sunday. Draws nicely, and suited even better on the smaller track for the "Queen of the Central Coast."
*MAIN DANGERS: Plenty of them headed by emerging Scone three-year-old 3. Polylithic who was game on debut leading at Newcastle, although will need to fire across from a wide gate. Must keep safe local four-year-old 2. Our Little Louie who draws the inside after motoring home late at Grafton to beat all bar the winner. Watch the betting on ex-Qld two-year-old 10. Ezekeil who resumes for the leading home track stable off a nice forward trial, and with a 3kg claim. Keep safe two-year-old Shalaa filly 13. Phule who makes her debut off two progressive trials for the top provincial stable.
Likely Tempo: Solid to Good
My Betting Attack: SHEER SUCCESS to WIN
*RACE 6 @ 3.40pm CONCRETE INDUSTRY SUPPLIES - cisupplies.com.au 0467 652 579 - CLASS 1 HCP (1000m) - Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
We stay at the five furlong sprint, and that augurs well for consistent local four-year-old 2. TRUMPED UP (Cody Morgan/Jackson Searle a3kg; 57kg) who has been freshened after a barrier-to-box win here over 1200m six weeks back. Perennial place-getter before that, and drawn to good advantage with a crucial 3kg allowance. Wears front bar plates for the first time.
*MAIN DANGERS: Well-touted and ex-SA Zoustar filly 7. Who Runs The World is fresh for her first run in the new Scone stable, and first-up last prep attacked the line in a handy maiden at Morphettville. Include talented Foxwedge filly 8. Fox On The Rocks who resumes with blinkers added, and off a nice trial. Keep watch on Inverell three-year-old 4. I Am Bolt who resumes with blinkers back on for an under-rated stable; while three-year-old 1. Giftgiver can improve sharply second-up despite a tough draw; and provincial filly 9. Muscadelle is also a knock-out hope at big odds fresh.
Likely Tempo: Good to Strong
My Betting Attack:: TRUMPED UP Each Way & FIRST FOUR: 2,7,8/1,2,4,7,8,9/1,2,4,7,8,9/1,2,4,7,8,9
*RACE 7 @ 4.15pm JT FOSSEY TAMWORTH - jtfossey.com.au (02) 6766 1466 - CLASS 2 HCP (1200m) - Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
Deep race for this class with plenty of chances. Keen on progressive three-year-old provincial filly 7. TAWFIQ LASS (Kris Lees/Dylan Gibbons a0kg; 57kg) second-up off a break from a nice gate. Worked home late when fresh behind a promising sprinter, and while there's more depth here, she has plenty of upside.
*MAIN DANGERS: Another one well on the rise, three-year-old 5. Beau Factor steps up in grade after convincingly winning two of his last three, and winkers are reapplied. Lightly raced Scone five-year-old 2. Melik will come on strong second-up with blinkers back on after resuming in a tougher Highway on a more rain-affected track. Will need plenty of speed on, though, likely forced to go a long way back from a wide barrier. Included in exotics four-year-old mare 8. Beauty Betty third-up; and 11. Cracking Mo resuming behind two progressive trials, and with key gear changes including winkers added.
Likely Tempo: Solid
My Betting Attack: TAWFIQ LASS to WIN & Trifecta: 2,5,7/2,5,7,8/2,5,7,8,11
*RACE 8 @ 4.50pm CARLTON DRY - carltondry.com.au BENCHMARK 74 HCP (1000m) - Min Weight 55kg; Apprentices Can Claim:
Yet another wide open and exciting sprint to finish, with a stack of chances. Keen on four-year-old Scone mare 11. TANGO STEPZ (Rodney Northam/Reece Jones a0kg; 55kg) resuming for a smart and in-form stable. Hasn't publicly trialled but comes to hand quickly and looks well treated under 55kg.
*MAIN DANGERS: Home track four-year-old 12. Rubic Honour has hit the line nicely in two runs back, and can peak here with key gear changes, and a significant drop in weight. Keep safe US-bred local five-year-old 9. Yulong Base who took on much tougher opposition last prep. Resumes off a lengthy break and two trials, drawing the inside gate. Provincial three-year-old filly 8. Miss Kono was a dominant CL1 winner two runs back before failing in the heavy, but better served on a soft rating carrying 2kg less. Watch the betting on local seven-year-old 5. The Lion who returns for his first run in more than a year, but looked sharp enough winning a recent trial; while both home four-year-old 6. Halcyon House and five-year-old mare 7. Dreaming For More will be running home hard at good odds.
Likely Tempo: Good to Strong
My Betting Attack: TANGO STEPZ to WIN & Box Exacta 9,11,12
