Rard Malcolm Thomas, 23, appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court last week, where a successful bid for his release was made, days after he was extradited from Queensland and charged with murder.
Thomas is accused of killing a 53-year-old man at a home in Coonabarabran on May 12.
A string of strict conditions were set down by magistrate Geoffrey Dunlevy as part of Thomas's bail, according to court documents.

Police claim the older man was found with severe head injuries outside a Nandi Street house in Coonabarabran on May 12, following a gathering at the property. He later died in a Sydney hospital.
Thomas is also facing one additional allegation of assault causing death by a person over the age of 18 years while intoxicated.
The 23-year-old was arrested in Queensland after extensive investigations by detectives and the homicide squad.
An extradition application was granted and police escorted the accused across the border and into NSW.
The case was adjourned to Dubbo Local Court in September, where Thomas is expected to appear via video link.
