Major businesses are in competition to secure their position at the new Tamworth Global Gateway Park (TGGP) development, co-located with a multi-million dollar intermodal rail hub designed to make the city a link to the state's major port.
Sales of the stage one subdivision along Goddard Lane, between the Oxley Highway and Wallamore Road, have progressed well, according to the council.
Current levels of interest in stage one are extremely promising, with industrial and commercial operators taking notice of the enterprise park, TRC mayor Col Murray said.
"Our region is getting attention from major businesses looking to establish here, which is wonderful," he said.
Construction of the infrastructure businesses will need to establish a presence at TGGP is well-underway, with three major projects now half-finished.
The Country Road Roundabout, Goddard Lane Upgrade and Trunk Stormwater Drainage infrastructure projects have all passed the 50 per cent complete mark and are expected to cost $27 million.
The projects are expected to be complete later this year.
The development of the TGGP will play a key role in the region's economic growth and employment opportunities for decades to come, Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said.
"I have no doubt this will deliver economic opportunities for Tamworth and I congratulate Tamworth Regional Council on their commitment to this important project," he said.
"The NSW Government's Growing Local Economies fund set out to invest in the crucial projects needed to support job creation and economic growth in regional NSW, and the TGGP is a great example of that."

Wallamore Road between Evans Street and Goddard Lane are expected to reopen to traffic in August as work continues.
Evans Street at Westdale will be temporarily closed to residents on July 17 and 18 to allow Transport for NSW and John Holland Rail to upgrade the Evans Street level rail crossing, including the installation of boom gates, flashing lights and warning bells.
The first phase of development work for Goddard Lane, the roundabout and the trunk stormwater drainage infrastructure are funded by all three levels of government.
Additional stages will become available as development of the site continues.
