TAMWORTH'S terrific range of food options just got bigger, with a new gourmet burger restaurant opening up on Peel Street this week.
Big Fella's Burgers opened on Monday and has so far pleased customers with its huge menu and range of different special sauces.
Experienced owner and chef Savresh Patel, who has previously worked in restaurants in India and London, said he believed there was a hole in the market and his team is capable of filling it.
"We thought let's start with something else, so let's start with the specialty burgers, so we have 23 burgers with 22 different sauces," he said.
"We know other companies do specialty burgers with special sauces, but we use my homemade sauces and we use homemade beef patties and Jack's Creek patties," he said.
Having opened on Monday, word has already around town about the restaurant, which is located near the corner of Peel and Bourke streets, at the former Taste Breeze Indian premises.
Mr Patel said the business has been extremely well supported over the first few days and he hopes the rush continues as its reputation grows.
"We went crazy that day [opening day on Monday], we got good support from the local people and we appreciate that they come and support us," he said.
