A POLICEMAN is set to take his firearm and drugs charges to a hearing as the prosecution gathers the brief of evidence in the case.

Aaron Luke Unicomb was excused from appearing in Moree Local Court when his six charges were mentioned.
Magistrate Holly Kemp has ordered a brief of evidence in the case, which must be served on the defence team by mid-July.
She also ordered the defence to file a listing advice one week later, confirming who it intended to call at a hearing.

The court has previously heard the hearing could be a two-day special fixture.
Unicomb is accused of allegations of being a holder of licence not have approved storage; three counts of failing to notify police of supply, loss or theft of a firearm; and two counts of possessing an anabolic or androgenic steroidal agent.
The case will return to court at the end of next month to fix a date for a hearing.
Unicomb first fronted court in Narrabri in April.
The senior constable, who is based in the Western Region, was charged on March 4, two weeks after officers raided his home.
The Professional Standards Command - the squad of officers who investigates NSW Police officers - launched an investigation in February after a report about the possession of restricted substances.
Investigations led the squad to the senior constable's home on February 17, where it was raided.
During the search, police claim they found prescription medication, and allege they uncovered breaches relating to the securing and disposal of registered guns.
In April, NSW Police confirmed the officer's employment "remains under review pending the court matter".
