A Toyota Tarago - which is at the centre of a drug seizure - was torched about 3am on March 25 in West Tamworth.
Oxley police have been piecing together CCTV footage from the area after the van erupted in flames when it was parked outside a business on Aberdeen Street.
At 3.15am, police were en route to another incident when they spotted the fire, which destroyed the Toyota.

Police said two people were seen running from the fire towards Edinburgh Street.
Police are hoping the public can help identify two men who investigators want to question.
The first was wearing a dark jumper and grey shorts on the night, and the other was wearing a dark hooded jumper and black pants.
The Toyota is at the centre of a drug investigation, which has already seen four people charged. All four remain before the court.
It's the police case that the Tarago was intercepted on March 22 by police who searched the van and uncovered cash and methylamphetamine.
