The initial timeline has been pushed back by a day and a half, with wet weather and a large amount of waste responsible for the delay according to TRC.
Pickup in Calala was completed on Monday morning, with the contractor moving onto Kingswood in the afternoon.
From there it will move back through Hillvue and onto Barraba, Manilla and Attunga on Wednesday, before moving into Nundle later in the week - if everything goes to plan.
TRC waste and resource recovery manager Morne Hattingh said a "high volume" of waste has been presented for collection so far.

"Last week's collection tonnages were just over 130 tonnes," he said.
He also urged people to stay up to date with where they are in queue, and contact council if they had any concerns.
"We will continue to post updates to our Facebook page to help keep residents informed on our contractor's progress.
"If residents believe their collection has been missed they are asked to call the Waste Hotline on 1300 530 535 to report a missed collection."
