Mr Anderson - also known as 'Martin' - was last seen at his house on Pindari Dam Road in Pindaroi, about 50km north of Inverell, around 11 am on Wednesday morning.
Police and family are concerned for the 65-year-old's welfare given he has a medical condition, and have been scouring the region with the help of New England, Ashford and bush search and recue State Emergency Service units.
On Sunday, interstate police were contacted and asked to share any information they may have to assist with the search efforts.
Queensland forces were notified due to Mr Anderson's proximity to the border, while Victorian police were also told about the situation as he comes from the state, and officials are open to the possibility he could have gone back there.
