The fields, which normally hold oztag, cricket and softball matches, have been converted to baseball fields for the June Long Weekend Carnival.
McMurray said there had been "a couple little injuries" but other than that, everything had gone well so far.
"It's running smoothly, the weather's fine... It could be a bit warmer but having said that it's still great," McMurray said.
"They're up here for a good time, there's some good baseball being played and it's just absolutely excellent. It's a good weekend."
More than 50 teams have taken to the field and McMurray wants to see the carnival continue to thrive.
"It's the biggest baseball carnival in the southern hemisphere, without a doubt, and to see it grow has been great," he said.
The final round matches will be play on Monday morning. They will start between 8.15am and 8.30am.
The grand finals will then be played at 11am.
"It's been going for 52 years and we want to keep it going for another 52 years."
