Ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene on Wednesday afternoon and have been assessing those involved in the crash.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said he understood four patients were being treated at the crash site but all appeared to have escaped serious injury.
No one had been taken to hospital about an hour after the crash, but the spokesman said patients may be taken to Tamworth hospital for further treatment for minor injuries.
Emergency services and Transport for NSW crews remained at the scene about 5pm, and Live Traffic NSW updates indicate the Oxley Highway was closed to all traffic about that time.
Diversions are in place via Appleby Lane, Somerton Road and Manilla Road.
Live Traffic NSW urged all drivers to follow the directions of emergency services and traffic crews, and allow extra travel time.
