The 2020 Gunnedah Cup was one of a handful of meetings shifted from Riverside Racecourse last year due to the jockey rooms not being big enough to comply with COVID-19 regulations.
The rooms have now been renovated and the course is prepared for a big day of racing.
"It's fantastic, absolutely fantastic," Gunnedah Jockey Club secretary manager Lyn Tongue said.
"The weather looking great for Sunday, the fields are fabulous and we've had a good response to the marquee luncheon. I'm really looking forward to the day and hoping people will turn out."
There was 171 nominations for the meeting and 117 acceptances with a full field, plus four emergencies, for the Mannion Drilling Gunnedah Showcase Cup.
"We're very pleased with the fields. They've held up wonderfully," Tongue said.
"The Cup field, and all the fields on the day, are excellent."

The 2021 edition of the Gunnedah Cup will be Tongue's first as secretary manager after taking up the role at the back end of 2019.
However, she has been at the helm for two Christmas meetings and Tongue hoped Sunday would be similar to those meetings.
"We got back racing midway through the year [2020] and we had a successful Christmas Hams meeting and I'm hoping Sunday will be on par with that," she said.
Gavin Groth will be the sole Gunnedah hope in the cup with Redemption Road.
"We'll be cheering him on. He's going for a double with the Moree Picnic Cup on Saturday and the Gunnedah Cup on Sunday," Tongue said.
The first race jumps at 12.15pm.
There will be live music on the day and fashions on the field which will have cash prizes up for grabs.
