It's called Walking Basketball, and it's a new program for Tamworth that invites members of the public to enjoy social, low-impact sport for free.
The program is great for people who have had injuries or are less mobile, who want to keep physically active and learn a new skill, NSW Basketball walking basketball facilitator Alisha Brighton said.
"I hope people give it a go so the program can stay in Tamworth," she said.
"You don't ever have had to have played, you don't even have to know what basketball is.
"We'll tell you everything when you rock up, but preferably wear enclosed shoes."
The program is funded by Sport Australia's Move It Aus Better Ageing Grant, and is designed to provide health benefits to participants who might be intimidated by the pace and impact of a traditional game.
It's open to all ages, genders and abilities and is hoped to combat sedentary behaviour and encourage people to get active and try something new.

There's no expectations from the coaches for participants to have prior knowledge of the sport, Ms Brighton said.
"There's no need to have any skill or knowledge it's a bit of fun and for someone who is nervous great to give it a go and cater for them what they want to do certain things," she said.
"We work around what they can do rather than them having to fit a mould."
The games are on every Tuesday at 6pm to 7pm at Tamworth Sports Dome on May 18 and 25 for the trial.
