As a mechanic, owner Tim Scanlon spends most of his day tinkering with engines old and new.
So when he was approached to join the Manilla Vintage Machinery Group back in 1994, he wasn't so sure that it was for him, 27 years later he's become the president.
"One guy always tried to get me into it and I said, 'I work with engines everyday of the week, why would I want to go into this?'," he said.
"I was at this guy's place and they were preparing engines, I went out to the shed and was mucking around with an old engine with his father and that was it.
"It's just it, yeah, it gets you in."
After a COVID-19 induced hiatus, the club is back with its annual vintage machinery rally; with a swap meet, vintage machinery displays, the famous tractor pull and a street parade.
The club itself started around 1988, back then there wasn't a dinner after the day out, Mr Scanlon said.
"Now it's really taken off," he said.

"This year we haven't catered a great deal for the kids because of COVID; we usually have jumping castles, but they can expect to see old station engines, chainsaws, sheep sheering, a tractor pull and a balancing tractor machine there as well."
Equipment can come from all sorts of places, from estate sales to old back sheds, swap meets and more.
There's no rivalry in the group and everyone has a passion for preservation, Mr Scanlon said.
"It just carries on down the track, when I'm finished with it I'll pass things down to my grandson, the things people have are so unique," he said.
"There's a lot of stuff around that you don't even know what it is, you put it out on Facebook but there's a lot of stuff people still don't know anything about."
The annual rally features Lanz Bulldog Tractors on June 12 and 13 at the Manilla Showground.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids, the parade is on the Saturday morning at 11am at the main street.
