Tamworth Tropicals will sell African cichlids, goldfish, plecos, axolotls, angel fish and much more to those wanting a new pet.
Owner Nicole Nolan is excited about opening the doors to sell the tropical fish and items that regular pet stores may not have. She won't be stocking marine fish.
Her partner Jamie owns Northgate Butchery and she's been working alongside him for a few years, but now she's eager to branch out on her own adventure.
"There was an aquarium store here before I took over but he was never open so I thought I would take a crack. I took over most of his gear but I repainted and cleaned everything up," Ms Nolan said.
"I'll also sell food, medications and ornaments, filters, heaters."

She did have three fish tanks at home with her favourite species, the African cichlid, up front and centre, but they will now live in the store.
For display only, of course.
"I just think it's relaxing, having a nice tank and you can just sit in front of it for hours, watch them relax and wind down from hectic, busy lives," she said.
She owned a pet store in Glen Innes for seven years so she knows a bit of what she's getting into.
"It's just a little hobby business to start with," she told the Leader.
But after a quick post to a Facebook group, it may become more than a "little" business, with many Tamworth residents eager to check out the shop.
"I'm starting out on my own but if I do get too busy, I'll look at hiring somebody," she explained.
"We'll be closed Mondays, but open Tuesday-Sunday. Saturday and Sunday I imagine will be the bigger days."
- Tamworth Tropicals will open on Saturday at Shop 3/88 Calala Lane ready to serve the public.
