A SHINY new sculpture is in the works for the middle of a roundabout being built at the entrance to the city's new industrial business park.

The design is created by Everlon and Co artists with a $50,000 budget and will be installed at the intersection of the Oxley Highway and Country Road.
The roundabout is a critical piece of the city's defining document, Blueprint 100, to allow access to Tamworth's Global Gateway Park project.
Cr Glenn Inglis was on the working group that looked at the proposals.
"Everyone has a view and an opinion but this one was unanimous in the context of the submissions that we had," he said.

"The only issue is it is all subject to CASA [Civil Aviation Safety Authority] approval and Transport for NSW because we do want it lit and flying in the other day I particularly took notice and it's right under the flight path - so hopefully there's not an issue there.
"The only other thing of discussion will be which way it actually points."
