STUDENTS at McCarthy Catholic College have commemorated Anzac Day with a ceremony and march around their school oval.
The entire school body packed in for the ceremony, which Year 12 students began by describing the role of Anzac Day.
Everyone heard from Corporal Kelly O'Neill via Zoom, who is currently serving in Darwin. He graduated from McCarthy in 2010.
Corporal Tim McGregor, who left McCarthy in 2006, made a presentation. He described his role in the 381 squadron with the Royal Australian Air Force.
Another former student, Nicholas Hannan, performed the Last Post on the bugle.
After the ceremony, students then filed onto the oval for a march. The usual march in Tamworth involving many of the local schools was cancelled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
