A MAGISTRATE has conditionally bailed a man who is accused of possessing guns and drugs after a raid on a home near Tamworth.

Gregory John Collins, aged 58, has been released from custody but faces 14 charges after his arrest in Quirindi on Wednesday.
Officers uncovered five unregistered guns as well as tall cannabis plants and drugs inside the Duke Street home when they went knocking.
"Police seized large cannabis trees, cannabis leaf, a large quantity of dried cannabis, unregistered firearms and ammunition," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said.

The raid by the Oxley Proactive Crime Team (PCT) and Quirindi police was sparked after an ongoing investigation into drug supply.
Police confirmed the five firearms were all unregistered long-arms which will be examined and undergo ballistics testing to determine their origin.
Collins was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was questioned and charged. He spent the night in custody before fronting court for a bail application on Thursday.
In Tamworth Local Court, magistrate Mal MacPherson banned the 58-year-old from drinking alcohol or taking drugs as part of his bail.
Collins faces one charge of possessing three or more unregistered firearms without a licence - a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years' imprisonment, if convicted.
He's also accused of possessing an unregistered prohibited gun; several charges of not keeping a firearm safely; being an unauthorised person who fails to surrender a firearm; and possessing ammunition without a licence.
He faces drug-related charges of supplying more than an indictable quantity of cannabis; cultivating a prohibited plant; possessing drugs; possessing prohibited plants; and possessing more than an indictable quantity of cannabis.
As part of his bail, Collins must report to police once-a-week; live in Quirindi; is banned from drinking alcohol or taking drugs; and possessing or trying to get hold of a firearm.
The case will return to court in Quirindi in May for pleas to be entered.
