As May the 4th arrives, Star Wars fans prepared their lightsabers for an event that's out of this universe.
The May the Fourth Be With You event is headed by Rod 'Rocket' Strong, who runs weekly lightsaber academy classes out of his wife's wellness centre.
"There's a famous quote by John Barrowman, he says, 'Never apologise for being a nerd, because non-nerdy people don't apologise for being jerks," he said.
"Let your nerd flag fly, people love this stuff - it's about being among like-minded people and having some fun."
The Knights of the New Republic kicked off on May 4, 2019.
It started out of frustration that there were limited events for Star Wars fans in the area, rather than complain, Rocket decided to start something himself.

"We're having a mocktail party, Cosplay is welcome so come as your favourite Star Wars character and we'll have prizes for the best costumes," he said.
"Our menu is inspired by Star Wars and we're using a cook book that comes from the galaxies edge."
Guests can sip from the Hyperdrive or a Jawa Juice, nibble on a Ronto Wrap or an Endorian Tip-Yip.
Rocket doesn't just teach lightsaber classes, he's a celebrant and can deliver Star Wars themed weddings, vowel renewals or even funerals.
The event is at 1/7 Doyle Street, Narrabri on May 4 at 6:30pm. Tickets are $30 per person and include food and drink.
