It's set to be released by the end of this year, just in time for Christmas and the 50-year anniversary of the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2022.
Tamworth mayor Col Murray said business owners would even be able to purchase a square on the board to have their very own property available to buy in the game.
These businesses would then have the opportunity to sell the game when it's released.
"People will be able to take a piece of Tamworth home with them and battle it out over their favourite attraction or destination. It also provides a great opportunity to advertise our region in a significant and lasting way," Cr Murray said.

There'll even be customised 'community chest' and 'chance' playing cards, and possibly a special guitar playing piece.
"It's a great thing for our city and it's caused a lot of excitement," Cr Murray said.
"It'll be a lot of fun for the community to be involved and also for the council to be involved in selecting those picks right around the board.
"We'll have some of our natural and built iconic features from around the region and I think it'd be great to see things like the silo art at Barraba, maybe the Nundle Woolen Mill, the adventure park, the regional playground."
Winning Moves, the owner of Monopoly Australia rights, approached Tamworth Regional Council to develop the board.
The mayor said the council was a financial partner with Winning Moves, but the cost was "commercial in confidence".
"It will be recorded on our annual report ... so there'll be full disclosure but it's pretty much a risk-based approach that council is taking, and we're very very confident that this will return a nice little dividend for the community," he said.
