A YOUNG girl was taken to John Hunter Hospital via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service on Saturday afternoon following a motorcycle accident.

The 9-year-old suffered a fall on a rural property at Merriwa, and was quickly attended to by local paramedics and emergency services.
Ambulance NSW contacted Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) and met them there.

After arriving she was then taken by the WRHS critical care medical team.
They continued to care for the child, and stabilised her before she was flown to the John Hunter Hospital.
She arrived in Newcastle in a serious but stable condition.
