DRIVERS have been urged to travel with caution and obey road signs, with some Tamworth roads in need of "extensive" repairs before they can carry cars safely.

Heavy rain was dumped on Tamworth last week and even as the city dries out, fixing up the road damage will take some more work.
Tamworth Regional Council confirmed Wallamore Road at Tangaratta Creek remained closed on Wednesday and Prices Road at Bective could be closed for some time yet.

Locals have been warned not to travel across the Tangaratta Creek causeway on Wallamore Road even if it looks like the water has gone, becuase there is a "void" under the causeway.
"Please respect road closed signs, as the road surface may give way under the weight of a vehicle," a council statement said.
Tamworth council said the causeway has been washed out at Prices Road, Bective, and will require "extensive repair" before traffic can travel that route again.
All other roads have reopened after a moderate flood in the Peel River swept through town last week.
Tamworth Regional Council confirmed Warral-Duri Road at Duck Under has reopened.
Both Burgmanns Lane and Dungowan Dam road are open again but with caution, because the edges of the road have been washed out at Burgmanns Lane and Dungowan Dam Road could still be slippery and littered with debris.
