The side coached by senior police officer, and Kootingal-Moonbi mentor, Geoff Sharpe, and featuring a number of New England-based players beat Bankstown 24-10 in their opening game before going down to their southern counterparts 16-nil in the final game of the first day.
Defending premiers Eastern Suburbs Wombats were heading in tipped to be the team to beat and made a strong start to their 2021 Police Bank Cup campaign accounting for Parramatta 16-nil and Penrith 26-6.

Country South were also unbeaten drawing with Manly 6-all in their opening game.
The action begins again today at 2pm at Scully Park.
The annual carnival has brought some 300 players and support staff to the city and will run through to Thursday.
