The teams will clash at Nemingha Oval on Saturday with Northies looking to win the premiership in their first season in the competition.
Like many good ideas, the new team came about over a couple cold ones.
"We're just a couple mates who wanted to have a bit of fun on a Saturday," Northies captain Adam Pearson said.

"It's a good excuse to have a beer and hang out with your mates so that's how it started."
A large portion of the playing group either went to school at Farrer together or played rugby with Pirates.
"Along with a couple other ring-ins," Pearson said.
Kootingal has the chance to become the first team since the return of the competition in 2013 to go back-to-back.
Something captain Doug Barry and his side would love to do.
"We're pretty keen to go back-to-back but we're against a tough opposition, they're a pretty high standard side," Barry said.
While bush cricket is more laid-back than other cricket competitions, come this time of year the competitiveness comes out, Barry said.
"Usually after Christmas the level goes up a little bit and then come semi-finals, and obviously the grand final, everyone wants to win just like any other competition," he said.
The match starts at 1pm while Woolomin and Nundle will play in the B grade grand final at 9am.
