It will be all to play for for the Redbacks on Saturday, with Old Boys and City United also a chance of finishing on top depending on results.

Adding to the intrigue, is the fact that two day points will still be on offer despite the game reverting to a 40-over game after the first day was washed out.

For the Redbacks the equation is pretty simple to finish on top - win. Alternatively should they stumble against Old Boys and City get up they could slip down to third and miss out on the major semi-final altogether.

That's certainly not where they want to be.

"Especially with the weather that's been around I think you need to be in the box seat," Redbacks skipper Adam Greentree said.

At least a day of the last three games has been washed out.

They will be looking to turn the tables after Old Boys got the points in their one and only meeting.

It was one of only two losses in what has been the Redbacks most consistent season since probably 2015.

"We've been playing good cricket all year," Greentree said.

Asked what the big difference was he credited a few different factors.

"Cameron Reeves has been a big addition to our side, he's been excellent; and the fact that Michael and Brendan (Rixon) have scored 800 runs between them has helped," he said.

The brothers are the two leading run-scorers in the competition.

At the same time they haven't been "relying heavily" on too many players.

"Most of our batsmen have scored runs and bowlers taken wickets," he said.

He also noted the camaraderie amongst the players.

He said to get the result on Saturday they will have to "do all things well".

"They're (Old Boys) a good side, obviously they've been the benchmark the last few years," he said.

In the other game South Tamworth play Bective-East at Riverside 2.
