The Westpac Rescue Helicopter rushed to the remote location on the Severn River near Emmaville about 2:30pm on Monday.
Local paramedics were already at the scene and had attempted rescue efforts for the young man who had suffered head injuries and multiple fractures.

Eventually, the helicopter's critical care medical team had to be winched into the location due to difficult terrain and limited access to the man.
The patient was treated by paramedics before he was winched from the tight spot on a stretcher and flown direct to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
