The come and try day was held on Sunday at Riverside 5 where Roosters coach Greg Vallender led the session for the new and returning players.
"I think we've got 20-odd new kids here, which is absolutely fantastic," Vallender said on Sunday.
"There'd be a few under 17s but the majority are under 14s which is good because that's where we need to recruit each year.

"You've got six or seven graduating from under 17s each year which should be filled by six or seven from the 14s.
"If we can recruit those numbers back in the bottom age, the system's working."
The Roosters will now kick off training on Wednesday nights from 6pm at Riverside 5 and Vallender invited kids to come along.
"The newer kids, we'll go back to basics with them and the kids progressing a little more can train with the 17s so they're being challenged," Vallender said.
