It's the police case Mervyn Fermor, 20, was part of a group that targeted a home in Jill Street just before dawn on January 9.
The 20-year-old was arrested last week, and will remain in custody for two more months after his bid for bail in Tamworth Local Court was refused.
He was not required to enter a plea to the charge of aggravated break-and-enter and commit serious indictable offence.

About 5.15am on January 9, police said a gang of five forced their way into a home on Jill Street and confronted the occupants.
Police claim the intruders assaulted a 25-year-old man before he fled the house with his four-year-old child.
The group then assaulted two other occupants before leaving the scene, officers allege.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Tamworth hospital with minor injuries and was later released.
Police launched an investigation, and about four days later, two men and a woman were arrested at a John Street home.
Chloe Ann-Louise Pickering and Daniel Caldwell appeared in Tamworth Local Court in February, while Toby Caldwell was excused but was represented by a solicitor.
All three - aged 19 and 20 - face a lone charge of aggravated break-and-enter and commit serious indictable offence, but were not required to enter a plea. They remain on conditional bail to reappear in April.
Police claimed at the time the home invasion was targeted.
