For Judy Scrivener, having the Tamworth Pet Centre organise an extra special birthday present for her son Michael was the icing on the cake.
"It was Michael's 40th birthday, and I wanted to do something special," Ms Scrivener said.
"Debbie knows Michael, he's been going in there twice a week for almost two years to see and give treats to their two labs Brandy and Misty.
"When I told her, she said a fish tank with coloured lights, and got it all sorted. Seeing his face light up, it made me so appreciative of how they all went above and beyond."
The Tamworth Pet Centre has been run by the Mann family, Debbie, David and Jaydan, for almost 19 years now, all "born and bred on the hill".
Sometimes it's the people who are out there every day, who you see all the time, they are the ones making the real difference.

As a small business, Mrs Mann said caring for their customers, especially the regulars like 'Mikey' was second nature.
"It's very rewarding and to see the look on Mikey's face, it was wonderful," she said.
She said having Michael come in with his NDIS worker twice a week "makes our day".
"We have a lot of people come in who have disabilities, come in every week, and they are our friends, and part of our family."

Mrs Scrivener took the chance to say thank you for their kindness and support this week, dropping off a surprise bunch of balloons.
"People who are in any way different still have to fight battles," she lamented.
"Deb, Dave and Jayden are so gentle, experienced and clever. Sometimes it's the people who are out there every day, who you see all the time, they are the ones making the real difference, and I thought it'd be nice to show them how much what they do means to us."
