FIREFIGHTERS were called to a property on the outskirts of Tamworth on Thursday morning, after reports a tractor had caught fire in a paddock.

NSW Fire and Rescue crews from the South Tamworth station rushed to the farm, near Loomberah, just before 9:30am, and found a parked tractor engulfed in flames.
Station officer Tim Gillard told the Leader a small grass fire was also sparked when the tractor blaze broke out.

"We turned up and in the distance we could see the thick black smoke ... on arrival we found the tractor was well alight," he said.
"We immediately got to work setting up a line of hose and we utilised foam as well, and we knocked it down in a short time."
Two crews from the South Tamworth station were sent to extinguish the machinery fire and the small grass fire.
Mr Gillard said it appeared the tractor had been parked in the paddock, and was destroyed by the flames.
It is understood no one was reported injured.
"The tractor was very hot so we were there for quite some time, cooling it and making it safe," Mr Gillard said.
